Honor God, Seek Christ, Serve Others Together

Christian Women Fellowship

We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  Ephesians 2:10  (NIV)

Our Christian Women Fellowship (CWF), aka Disciple Women Ministry (DWM), meets on the 3rd Thursday of the month.  We offer two options, our Hanomi Circle meets at 10:00 a.m. and our Esther Circle meets at 7:00 p.m.  During the year we are involved in many activities and ministries, not only within the church, but also in our local community, city, state, and beyond.

We serve our church in many ways such as preparing and serving dinners after a funeral to family and friends of the deceased; and we sponsor the Bazaar during the church’s Turkey Dinner that is held the first week in November.  Throughout the year we help other nonprofits such as the Clay County Clothes Closet, Ronald McDonald House, the local schools, working behind the scenes collecting pull-tabs, labels, and eyeglasses; doing whatever we can to help where help is most needed. Financially, we help several other nonprofit organizations.

Some of our various activities are assembling Totes for Teens for the Christmas Store, preparing hygiene kits, school kits, and prison kits for the Festival of Sharing, and preparing Christmas and Easter baskets for the homebound in our local congregation. We participate in the Disciple Women Ministry Regional meetings where speakers engage us in timely and significant topics; and Northland Church Women United events where we participate in various interesting forums commemorating World Community Day and The World Day of Prayer.

But best of all, in the spring and fall of the year is the Women’s Retreat at Tall Oaks.  All year long we busy ourselves participating in meetings, preparing meals and making things to give to others so these retreats give us the opportunity to pull away from all such activity and to treat ourselves.  It’s a time for each of us to simply let go, to allow ourselves to be refreshed in our spirit. It’s a time of communion with God in the quiet beauty of His natural world.  As we listen, study and worship together we grow even closer to God.  And we all come back recharged in our faith while having built an even stronger relationship with our sisters in Christ.

We welcome not only women who are members of the church, but also others who accept the “Purpose” of the Fellowship.  If you aren’t now but would like to be a part of our women’s fellowship, please see Arleta White, President or Ardith Haynes, Leader of the Hanomi Circle or Sue Effie, Leader of Esther Circle.   Let them know you want to participate or call our church office and the secretary will pass your name and contact information on and be assured you will be contacted.
